Stones Win in Thunder Bay!!!

The Stone Dragons of the Twin Ports took first place at the Thunder Bay Dragon Boat Race Festival on Saturday, July 21st. It took four tries but the 2007 Thunder Bay Team was victorious. We had a very rough first heat but gained our composer on our second race. Our combined times gave us the fourth fastest and a shot at the gold in the "A" final. From start to finish we were smooth, powerful, and composed. It was such a great win to share with our team of 22. WOW! Way to go STONES!! Chris

Thunder Bay

Stones, attached is the race schedule for this weekend at Thunder Bay. Our qualifying races are at 10am and 1pm. These are critical to getting into the "gold" final. top 4 combined times in qualifiers gets into the "gold" final. That should be us!!! Remember, set your watches ahead 1 hour when you cross the border. They are on Eastern Time!! Please try to be at our tent by about 8 or 8:30am. No Later. We need time to go over race plans and warm up. We head to the staging area about 45 minutes prior to our heat. Our team tent is usually located farthest west along the water front, right in front of the starting area. Map to race site can be found by following this link:

Things to remember:

- food to share

- grill (Chris)

- big tarp (Dave)

- smaller tarp (Chris)

- chairs

- gray shirt w/ black shorts

- paddles and pfd's if you have your own

 

This is a great race for us with a great venue! Let's have fun with this one but, as always, we are there to WIN!! 1 - 2 - 3 STONES!!!
